Ouch.

Okay. So, Tuesday morning I went to the park again and had a MUCH rougher time with things. I ran with my next door neighbor who is a “real” runner. We started off on a pace that I thought I could sustain and could not. I got in one mile before I had to stop. I couldn’t catch my breath. So, I ended up walking for about two more miles and then ran probably another half mile. Total of four miles, but BY FAR the majority of that was walking. Which kinda blows. But, at least I am out there doing something.

Woke up this morning in all kinds of pain. But I’m trying not to be a girl about it (I mean other than posting about it in my blog here). One new pain that is a little troublesome is my big toe. Yeah, never had a pain in my big toe before, well, that wasn’t preceeded by me smacking it into something. So, hoping that its just soreness and will go away soon.

We had an excellent July 4th. We spent it with our neighbors next door and in spite of the muggy and hot day we managed to make the most of it. Took in some fireworks last night as well. So, all-in-all a fun holiday.

Wow. So, personal best today.

Yesterday my friend Paul IMs me and tells me that he’s going to be running in Lebanon on Saturday morning and that I should join him. I initially thought that I wouldn’t be taking part in this activity, but then my motivated side decided to go ahead and do it. So, I agreed. Got up at 7:30am (after spending the previous night drinking beer until 1am with our neighbors). And proceeded to run for 4 laps of the mile track! Well, honestly – didn’t run all of that. But, probably walked about 1-1.5 miles of that and ran the rest of it. So, I ran about 2.5-3 miles!!! WOW! I had never ever ran that kind of a distance before. It was thrilling and exhausting all at the same time. So yeah, that was awesome! Plus it pretty much proved to me that I can run a 5K now. Since I basically ran a 5K plus .8 miles! Wooohoooo! Very motivating for me to keep up with the running next week (after I recover from todays craziness).
