I made it through the pre-game hype of the Colts/Pats game. That's probably the mot worthwhile thing you are going to read here today. The game is a few hours away and I'm really looking forward to it. But not like I'm looking forward to the Titans versus the Panthers game today. You see, my neighbor (crazy Scottish guy) is a huge Panthers fan. So, I'm hoping for the best.
Nice return by Chris Henry. Hopefully his situation gets straightened out soon. I think he kinda got shafted by it personally.
Nice run by Vince! Really nice. 15 yards on a play where he had nothing. Excellent.
TD run by Vince. He ran in untouched. Now, we need to show we can pass the ball fellas. Vince looks to be back to form. Not gimpy at all.
Here comes David Carr. I kinda feel bad for the guy. He's kinda like Pennington and a few others, he's just got a reputation as just a mediocre QB. Oh, and he's sacked by Haynesworth. How had to plow through Justin Hartwig who had all kinds of bad things to say about Albert to the press. Guess he just got pwned. Maybe he should shut up and watch some more film? Yeah.
Wow, that Davis guy can flat out make things happen with the ball. He just returned a punt (from the Panthers three and out) and man, he moves a lot like Pac. Which is actually a good thing. Being like Pac *on* the field is okay.
Just not off.
Wow, Ben Troupe didn't make a catch that was thrown to him PERFECTLY? Yeah, I think the experiment with Troupe is over, that dude has TONS of potential, but his head is elsewhere. So, time for him to go elsewhere. You know, one guy can only single-handedly kill a drive SO many times before you have to cut bait.
Wow. Our defense it absolutely KILLIN these guys. Albert is just having his way (again) today. You know, I get that it's a contract year, but a guy this talented – I really hope we work hard to keep him. Just like we did with Vanden Bosch. You know, there is loyalty on both sides. KVB likes us because we took a chance on him and we rewarded his skill and perseverance with a nice contract. Hope we do the same for Albert. Anyways, enough couch GM-ing.
Wow, and suddenly it's a penalty-fest. Let's get it under control fellas. We're giving them field position.
And a pass to the guy that I think will make the team realize that we don't need Troupe. Justin Gage. He's VERY tall and he instantly create mismatches. Which is what they were hoping to get from Troupe, but never have.
Oh great. Fumble. And WOW Steve Smith almost had that ball. Geeze that dude is scary. He was leaned over so far backwards trying to catch that ball it was amazing. Very impressive even if he didn't make the catch (which I'm actually happy about).
And alright. They run on a third and long when they haven't done anything in the run department all game? Yeah, okay I see. Trying to setup the field goal? No, that can't be – it was on a hash mark. Odd. Oh, and he missed it. So, still no points for the kitties.
Hey there Titans cheerleaders! How YOU doin?
Wow, what a catch by Scaife. Holy cow. He didn't think that ball was coming, but it did and he got it from behind himself. Impressive. Too bad we can't pass the ball more than 5-7 yards at a click.
And LaBoy makes a catch, from the OTHER teams QB! Wooooooo! Tony Brown tipped the ball and that was awesome.
Wow, LaBoy has some hair. That dude could almost be in a band.
Gah. Interception in the end zone.
Four minutes left in the 2nd and Carolina got their first 3rd down conversion.
Ugh, these announcers. Homer doesn't say "Go" you tool. And his name isn't Robbie Bironas. Idiots.
And yeah man, I wouldn't want "Big Country" Dave Stewart yelling at me, man. That dude is like a house. A giant, moving house that wants to tackle you and make you fall down. So you don't hit his quarterback. Not a happy house.
And a ROB Bironas field goal to end the half. Awesome. See you guys after half time. Oh that's right, no one is actually reading this. More typing to myself after the half! Yay!
Rant on!
One thing. These contrived pre-game shows and the funny/witty/actually lame "banter" (if you can call it that) that goes on with the hosts of these pre-game shows. It's getting annoying to see how fake it is. I understand that everyone loves to see the other guys make fun of Terry. But really, it's just so fake that the producers give these guys barbs and points to "needle" their co-hosts. How about just a regular ol' show that has a bunch of guys who are smarter than me, talking about interesting things that I never knew. It's not hard to do guys, you could even make it a little funny, but the weekly segment with the weather chick AND with the impressions guy on Fox is really just crap. Someone needs to think outside the box on this one, because ALL the networks have the same thing. Please, let's grow up.
Rant off!
Second half starting now…
One more small rant – the Southwest commercial. Big, roomy jets? Bwahahahaa. Maybe if I was four feet tall. Like the actor they show in the commercial. Obviously the executive at Southwest has never had a sleepy redneck in the seat in front of him who puts his seat all the way back the second after take off and then doesn't put it back upright until the second before we land. Oh, all the while the redneck is hiding his "spit cup" that he forgets about and leaves in the gap between the seat and the wall. Which falls and drops tobacco spit all over. Yeah, love Southwest.
And while I was ranting yet ANOTHER end zone interception.
Holy crap – that kick by Hentrich was INSANE. 66 yards! That was JUST what we needed, when we needed it.
Carolina scores, which I didn't want to happen. I was hoping for a shut out. Ah, well.
I'm starting to wind down a little here in the 4th. Just nothing interesting but penalties.
And done! Woot!
